Ngozichukwu Lorna Okwara

I am a board-certified PMHNP in the States of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I have ample knowledge and experience in most nurse practice areas, however, chose to shift my gear towards psych and mental health in order to meet the evolving demands of our healthcare industry and my clients, especially. My goal is to work with my clients through their mental health journey while supporting them all the way to their recovery. I treat various conditions ranging from depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, ADHD, to substance use disorder and sleep disorders. I work with clients across lifespan and collaborate with their families and dependent other in developing specialized treatment by case bases.

Because of the uniqueness of each client and their presentations, my care approach includes that of individualized and holistic care model tailored to the needs of each client. I am an empathetic and active listener. I utilize evidence-based practice like collaborative care model, integrative medicine, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing in my practice as these help me explore more about my clients and enables better manage them.

At the end of each session, my clients must have built a therapeutic relationship with me, leaving each session with feeling heard, validate and empowered with clear understanding of their treatment goals and actionable steps to manage their mental health. i want my client to feel supported and motivated in continuing participation towards their journey to recovery no matter the resistance along the way.
