Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Nia! I grew up in a community where mental health resources were limited for black youth. That experience inspired me to become a therapist who creates spaces where Black youth and young adults feel seen, understood, and supported.

I work with adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions, helping them explore their emotions, build confidence, and understand themselves on a deeper level. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth—I aim to break down the stigma around therapy in communities of color and guide clients toward self-acceptance, emotional expression, and resilience so they can show up fully in their relationships, school, and daily life.H

My approach to therapy

As a dedicated and empathetic licensed therapist trained in trauma-focused CBT, EMDR therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. With a passion for helping adolescents navigate through challenges, I offer a safe and supportive space for those struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma.

My approach is not only evidence-based but also rooted in empathy, creating a safe and affirming space for adolescents and families to explore their emotions and experiences. With a focus on cultural sensitivity, I strive to honor each individual's background and perspective, fostering trust and understanding in our therapeutic journey together.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where they can begin sharing their experiences at their own pace. I focus on getting to know you as a whole person—your current concerns, strengths, and goals for therapy—while helping you feel comfortable and understood. Together, we will begin identifying areas you would like to work on, such as managing anxiety, processing difficult experiences, or building healthier coping strategies. My goal is to create a collaborative space where you feel empowered, respected, and supported as we start your therapeutic journey.
