Great to meet you!

I’m Niari Markarian, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Anger Management Counselor, offering individual therapy and couples counseling, and anger management sessions through Telehealth across California. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and collaborative; designed to help clients reduce anxiety, strengthen relationships, and build healthier coping skills. I provide bilingual services in English and Armenian.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I draw from evidence‐based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma‐informed care, and strengths‐based interventions to help clients gain insight and develop practical coping skills. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a safe, supportive partnership, where you feel heard and empowered to make meaningful changes. I also integrate culturally responsive care and offer bilingual services, whilst ensuring that sessions honor your background and lived experiences. Whether we’re working on managing anxiety, improving communication in relationships, or building emotional regulation skills, my goal is to create a space that fosters growth, resilience, and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive space to share what brings them to therapy. I’ll begin by learning about your goals, concerns, and personal history, while also explaining how the therapy process works. Together, we’ll discuss what you’d like to focus on and begin setting a direction for our work. My approach is collaborative and culturally responsive, so I’ll encourage questions and feedback to ensure you feel comfortable and understood.
