Great to meet you!

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified with over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. I received my LMSW from Stony Brook University in 2010, then went on to receive my MSN from Stony Brook University in 2020.

I have worked with many different populations and ages from 5 years old to 80 years old within the areas of: foster care, acute inpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization programs, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient psychiatry including telemedicine.

I work with adults who are motivated to feel their best and achieve the potential within themselves. I support those that are ready to put in the work to get optimal results. I treat depression, anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, PMDD, Bipolar disorder, eating disorders, panic disorder, ADHD, gender/identity issues, womens health issues, etc. I am passionate about assisting clients in reaching both their short-term and long-term goals in attaining happy, healthy, successful lives.

My approach to therapy

I believe in tailoring treatment to each client based on their current circumstances. Each individual is different and may need a variety of approaches to gaining overall well-being. I believe in a combination of medication management, psychotherapy, self-care, and holistic alternatives to help my patients achieve positive health and reach their goals.

My approach to therapy utilizes Solution-focused therapy, interpersonal therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT, the humanistic approach, and holistic/integrative therapy.

I create a warm, compassionate, nonjudgmental environment so you can feel comfortable opening up and expressing your thoughts and feelings. This is how trust is built to create a strong therapeutic relationship where the best work happens and the best results are created. I am calm, caring, kind, empathetic, and understanding. I listen with an open mind and provide support and empowerment when appropriate.

I have also overcome many struggles and obstacles in my own life, and it brings me great pleasure to assist those going through similar difficulties. I know firsthand what it feels like to not be at my best. I strive to treat and care for others with my education, personal experiences, and knowledge to make the world better one individual at a time.

What you can expect from me

You should expect to complete an initial intake assessment during the first session. This is necessary to collect proper information and data so I am able to provide appropriate care and treatment. I will be patient and listen carefully to what is going on currently with you. You can expect to feel heard and validated.

I approach goal setting by first discussing short-term goals, then long-term goals, and creating a realistic timeframe for achieving them. I discuss expectations with you and what you would like to achieve in order of importance to you, ensuring that we work toward what matters most in your life.
