Great to meet you!

Welcome to my practice! My name is Nichola Lydon, and I’m excited to work with you. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Montclair State University.

With over six years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges—including substance use disorders, perinatal mood disorders, and the overwhelming stressors of daily life. Whether you’re struggling with substance use dependency, navigating a difficult transition, or feeling stuck, I’m here to help.

My approach is honest, direct, and always rooted in compassion. I believe in having the tough conversations without judgment—because healing starts with truth, not sugarcoating. My practice is a safe, stigma-free space, where you can feel supported, heard, and empowered to create meaningful change.

If you're ready to do the work, face challenges head-on, and build a more resilient life, I’m ready to walk alongside you every step of the way.

Let’s begin your journey toward healing and growth—together.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for each individual’s unique experience. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and challenges without fear of criticism or shame. I believe that healing begins when individuals feel truly seen, heard, and accepted as they are.

I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions to best support each client’s needs, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Problem Solving Therapy (PST), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and person-centered therapy. By tailoring my approach to the individual, I aim to help clients gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, and build resilience as they navigate the challenges that bring them to therapy.

Above all, my goal is to empower clients to reconnect with their inner strengths, trust their own judgment, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and empowered.Together, we will work on building the confidence to trust your own judgment and make decisions aligned with your values. My approach is nonjudgmental and compassionate—clients should never feel ashamed or criticized. This is your safe space to openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
