Great to meet you!

I help veterans, first responders, and adults who are stuck in cycles of substance use and trauma. People who can see exactly what's happening but can't seem to change it no matter how much they want to. That's not weakness. That's what it feels like when the real drivers haven't been addressed yet.

I'm a licensed psychologist in Florida and work full-time as an addiction psychologist at the VA. This isn't a listed specialty. It's my daily clinical world. I earned my PhD from the University of South Alabama and have trained across VA hospitals, community mental health, and private practice settings. All sessions are telehealth across Florida and PSYPACT states.

My approach to therapy

Substances are usually a solution to something. Pain, trauma, stress, or a life that doesn't feel worth showing up for. Feeling stuck happens when you can see the pattern but don't yet understand what's holding it in place. We work to break the cycle, not just manage it. The goal isn't only sobriety. It's more meaning, more connection, and more of what actually matters to you. Ambivalence is welcome. You don't have to have it figured out to start.

What you can expect from me

Mostly, to be heard. I'll want to understand your story, not just your symptoms. What's brought you here, what you've already tried, and what a better life actually looks like to you. We won't rehash everything you've already attempted on your own. We'll start figuring out together what's actually been getting in the way. By the end, you'll know whether this feels right, and we'll have a starting point that's actually yours.
