Great to meet you!

I’ve been in the mental health field since 1992. I have a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in counseling. I'm licensed in MO and KS. I’ve worked in a variety of mental health settings such as community mental health centers, hospitals and emergency rooms, substance abuse treatment programs, and a private practice https://insightcounselingandconsulting.com

My approach to therapy

My process will focus on the “here and now” approach to identify strengths and skills that can be utilized to achieve your desired outcomes. I want to meet you where you are in your process and build a road map from there.

If you find yourself wondering whether therapy might be helpful for you, consider listening to this podcast: https://www.cnn.com/audio/podcasts/chasing-life/episodes/e4c4a8e8-8efa-11ee-ae9c-e7aa58a6d44b

What you can expect from me

I make frequent use of a questioning style referred to as guided discovery to identify your viewpoint and beliefs. We may also use assessments and "homework" so that you have continual practice and progress outside our sessions. I want to help make sure you can use the skills taught in counseling even after treatment is completed.
