Great to meet you!

I’m Nick, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience in mental health. I primarily work with men, including gamers who may not always connect with traditional therapy.

I understand that gaming can be more than entertainment. It can be a place for challenge, connection, competition, escape, and self-expression. When helpful, we can incorporate video games into sessions as a shared activity or a way to better understand how you respond to stress, frustration, communication, and other people. Gaming is always optional, and traditional talk therapy remains available.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, direct, and practical. We’ll work together to understand the patterns keeping you stuck and develop tools that fit your actual life.

For clients interested in gaming integration, games can provide a natural setting for conversation and an opportunity to notice patterns as they happen. How you handle pressure, mistakes, conflict, teamwork, or avoidance in a game may help us understand similar experiences outside of it. The goal is not simply to play, but to use the experience intentionally in support of your therapeutic goals.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus on getting to know you, what brings you to therapy, and what you would like to change. We’ll discuss what has and has not worked for you before and identify some initial goals.

If you’re interested in incorporating gaming, we’ll also talk about what you play, your available setup, and how gaming might support the work. We will usually begin with conversation before deciding together whether playing during future sessions would be useful.
