Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes that quality mental health care begins with compassion, respect, and truly listening to each person's experience. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds experiencing a range of mental health concerns, with a special interest in substance use, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other complex behavioral health needs.

My Caribbean heritage has also shaped my appreciation for the important role that culture, family, community, and personal values can play in how we understand and experience mental health. I strive to provide an inclusive, culturally responsive environment where clients feel respected, understood, and actively involved in their care.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and solution-focused. Your experiences matter, and I want to understand what has brought you to this point—but our work will also focus on where you would like to go from here.

Rather than simply identifying symptoms, we will work together to understand what may be contributing to them and develop realistic strategies for moving forward. When medication is appropriate, I believe in shared decision-making: discussing options, benefits, potential risks, and your preferences so that treatment is something we develop together rather than something that simply happens to you.

My goal is to help you leave our conversations with greater clarity, practical next steps, and a treatment plan that feels manageable and meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to understand you as a whole person—not simply a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. We will discuss what you are currently experiencing, your mental and physical health history, medications, substance use when relevant, relationships and supports, cultural considerations, and the goals that are most important to you.

We will then begin identifying practical next steps together. Depending on your needs, this may include medication management, education, behavioral strategies, coordination with other providers, or recommendations for additional support. I welcome questions and encourage you to participate actively in decisions about your care.

Most importantly, you can expect a respectful, nonjudgmental conversation focused not only on what has been difficult, but also on what we can do together to help you move forward.
