Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Nicki. I’m a licensed counselor focused on practical, compassionate, and trauma-informed care. I work collaboratively with individuals, including those in high-stress professions and situations, to build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and support meaningful change. My approach is direct, supportive, and grounded in trust, while leaving room for appropriate humor, because sometimes a little laughter helps make hard work feel more manageable. I’m glad to connect and look forward to working together.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative and practical approach to therapy. I focus on building trust and creating a space where clients feel respected and understood. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive approaches to help identify unhelpful thinking patterns and build healthier responses.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a relaxed conversation focused on getting to know them and understanding what brought them to therapy. I’ll ask about current concerns, relevant history, and what they hope to gain from our work together. I also provide brief psychoeducation about stress, anxiety, and trauma so clients understand how these experiences may be impacting them. Together, we begin identifying initial goals and discuss possible approaches, including grounding skills and practical tools. There’s always time for questions, and clients set the pace for how much they want to share.
