Great to meet you!

Hello, I am Nicole Bovigny, PMHNP-BC (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner–Board Certified).

My journey began in Switzerland, where I was adopted shortly after birth and later experienced life within the foster care system. These early experiences gave me a unique perspective on resilience, adversity, and the importance of emotional well-being. They also inspired my lifelong commitment to understanding mental health and helping others navigate their own challenges.

Having experienced emotional distress, grief, and depression, I understand how difficult it can be to seek support. These experiences have strengthened my ability to empathize with individuals facing mental health concerns and have deepened my dedication to providing compassionate, nonjudgmental care. While I recognize the stigma that can surround mental health treatment, I have also witnessed the profound need for accessible and equitable mental health services.

My goal is to partner with you on your journey toward improved mental, emotional, and overall well-being. Your progress and success are deeply meaningful to me, and I am committed to providing evidence-based, personalized care that helps you achieve the best possible outcomes.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care begins with active listening and creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. I take the time to assess your unique needs by asking thoughtful questions, exploring your concerns, and working collaboratively with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.

My philosophy is “slowly but surely.” Lasting progress often occurs through small, meaningful steps rather than rushed changes. When medication is part of the treatment plan, I generally prefer a gradual and thoughtful approach to dosing whenever clinically appropriate, helping to minimize side effects while maximizing benefits.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide guidance, education, and evidence-based recommendations to help you make informed decisions about your care. I strive to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect are at the center of treatment.

Research has shown that a combination of medication management and therapy often leads to the best outcomes for many mental health conditions. When appropriate, I can help coordinate care and encourage additional supports that align with your goals and needs.

Together, we will work toward meaningful, sustainable improvements in your mental health and overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

During your first visit, you can expect a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. My goal is to get to know you as a whole person, not just your symptoms.

We will discuss your current concerns, mental health history, medical history, medications, lifestyle, and any factors that may be affecting your emotional well-being. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences, challenges, strengths, and treatment goals.

At the end of the appointment, we will review my clinical impressions and discuss treatment options tailored to your needs. If medication is appropriate, we will explore the potential benefits, risks, and side effects so that you can make an informed decision. Together, we will create a plan that aligns with your goals and comfort level.

My priority is to ensure that you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your care from the very beginning.
