Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor whose career journey spans over 20 yrs. I hold a Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC and earned my Bachelor's Degree from St. Louis University. My unique training and education allow me to practice clinically while integrating spiritual aspects if the client chooses to do so. I hold a Certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health from Troy University and am also a Certified Gottman Seven Principles Workshop Facilitator, which allows me to enhance the quality of relationships for my clients.

My clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples, families, children/adolescents, victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and group facilitation. Throughout my profession I have worked in a community mental health agency setting, private practice, crisis center, rehabilitation facility and serving parishioners at a church. I specialize in anxiety, anger management, depression, relationships and low self-esteem.

My approach to therapy

I aim to empower individuals to regain control over their daily functioning in life. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques along with other clinical approaches to help dispel overwhelming myths, thoughts and regulate emotions. In addition to this, I employ methods to help regulate emotions, practice distress tolerance, and, for couples, build healthy relationships. Together, we will implement practical skills designed to increase your ability to function at a healthier level.

What you can expect from me

Taking the first step toward positive change can feel overwhelming, but you are not alone. Take a deep breath—you are one step away from becoming the best version of yourself! Life brings with it a range of emotions, including confusion, anger, sadness, worry, anxiety, and relationship issues. Sometimes, you may encounter feelings you cannot even identify. No matter your situation—whether you are seeking help individually or as a couple—I am here to walk alongside you. With me, you will find understanding, guidance, and a commitment to helping you overcome life’s challenges. My goal is to help you improve your mental wellness, to be supportive; make you feel safe, heard and create a space to be your authentic self. Whether you are looking to address personal struggles or strengthen your relationships, together we can develop strategies tailored to your unique needs. You don’t have to sit alone with your thoughts.
