Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) with over 25 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, addiction, and life’s most challenging transitions. My background includes leadership as a Clinical Director in addiction treatment, as well as providing individual therapy across a wide range of mental health needs and addiction needs.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration, and I’ve spent my career working with both the emotional and behavioral aspects of healing. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, and life stressors. I also have extensive experience supporting women in recovery and helping clients rebuild self-esteem, emotional regulation, and a sense of personal empowerment.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to make meaningful changes, I’m here to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is both compassionate and direct. I believe real change happens when we feel supported enough to be honest about what’s not working—and are willing to actively do something different.

I take a collaborative, individualized approach with each client. In the beginning, I focus on understanding your story, identifying patterns, and using evidence-based assessments (such as the GAD-7, PHQ-9, and others when appropriate) to get a clear baseline of what you’re experiencing. From there, we create a plan that is tailored specifically to your goals, whether that’s reducing anxiety, improving mood, strengthening relationships, or building confidence.

My work is grounded in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care. I also integrate practical, skills-based strategies so you’re not just talking about problems—you’re learning how to respond to them differently in real life.

I specialize in working with anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have extensive experience supporting individuals who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm, and I help clients build awareness, emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of self.

My style is interactive and engaging. I will listen and validate your experience, but I will also gently challenge unhelpful patterns and offer honest feedback. Therapy with me is not passive—it’s an active process where we work together to create meaningful, lasting change.

Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel more in control of your thoughts, more grounded in your emotions, and more confident in how you move through your life.

What you can expect from me

In your first session with me, you can expect a supportive, structured, and collaborative environment where we begin to understand what’s bringing you to therapy and what you want to change or improve in your life.

We’ll start with an intake process, where I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, and any patterns you’ve been noticing. This helps me get a clear picture of your experiences and how they may be impacting your day-to-day life. I also use brief, evidence-based assessments (such as the GAD-7, PHQ-9, and others as needed) to help establish a baseline and better understand your needs. If appropriate, I may also include a safety screening to ensure we’re supporting you fully.

Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals—whether that’s reducing anxiety, improving mood, strengthening relationships, or feeling more confident and in control of your life. You won’t be expected to have everything figured out; part of our work is helping you gain clarity.

My goal in the first session is for you to feel heard, understood, and comfortable. I create a space that is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in honesty. I’ll meet you where you are, while also helping you begin to recognize patterns and start building practical tools you can use outside of session.

By the end of our first meeting, you can expect to have a clearer sense of direction and an initial plan for how we’ll work together moving forward.
