Great to meet you!

I am so proud of you for being brave enough to enlist help to find your inner peace. Thank you for entrusting me to be a part of your mental health journey.

With over 21 years of experience as an ER Nurse and 3 years of experience as an APRN, I use a blend of practical and theoretical knowledge to provide my clients with the individualized care they need. I have experience in pediatric & adult ER, labor & delivery, community health nursing, school health, oncology, and clinical education. I started my career as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2022, working in urgent care and teaching undergraduate nursing at the university level. I was blessed to be able to train for my PMHNP degree with a practice of providers with over 100-years of combined experience, allowing me rare access to a vast amount of highly experienced knowledge & clinical expertise. I believe knowledge is power, so I provide my clients with easily understandable information about their treatment plan, medications, diagnosis, and clear expectations.

My approach to therapy

I am fortunate to be blessed with the gift of connecting with people, and I choose to use that gift to learn about my clients, understand their views, and build a trusting provider-client relationship. I provide patient-centered care that focuses on the clients’ overall wellbeing and collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their goals, preferences, and values. I strive to empower clients and encourage them to openly communicate with me and actively participate in their treatment. I believe that while you control your own destiny, having a strong support system is key to success. I advocate for clients to involve family & friends who will positively support their journey to mental health wellness. I have and will always treat my clients with respect, honesty, dignity, and compassion as if they are my own family.

What you can expect from me

My sessions are a safe space for free speech and sharing of feelings and thoughts. I encourage open dialogue that is respectful and honest, and active participation from all participants in the visit. During our first visit, I would like to get to know you better, learn what your needs and expectations are, and set realistic goals for a plan of care that we will both work to achieve. On follow up visits, we will discuss how you are currently feeling and re-evaluate your treatment plan and adjust accordingly. We will celebrate your progress and support you through any “setbacks” that occur; and they will occur. It’s how we respond to them and work through them that will give you strength to move forward in a better mental health space. You will feel heard and empowered to drive your care, improve your understanding of your disorder and treatments, and learn to self-reflect on your inner thoughts and feelings to achieve peace and good mental health well-being.
