Great to meet you!

Nicole Petry, LMHC, ART

I am a fully Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I earned my undergraduate degree in 2002 and my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2012.

With over a decade of clinical experience, I have worked with clients of all ages — from toddlers to seniors — across a variety of settings including homeless shelters, schools, hospitals, and eating disorder clinics. I specialize in supporting individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community and their families, as well as those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and all forms of abuse.

I am passionate about helping clients reclaim their lives — rebuilding self-confidence, motivation, purpose, and greater freedom and fulfillment. I also offer faith-based Christian counseling for clients who wish to incorporate their Christian faith into their healing journey, with an emphasis on grace, acceptance, and wholeness.

I am an experienced group facilitator and have developed and led groups including Celebrate Recovery, SMART Recovery, CBT, DBT, Anger Management, Grief and Loss, and many others.

My style is approachable, authentic, and intentional. I am honored to support my clients as they heal and build more joyful, meaningful lives.

My approach to therapy

These are therapy approaches I use:

I draw from a wide range of evidence-based, experiential, and integrative therapy approaches to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs, goals, background, and cultural context. My collaborative, compassionate style flexibly blends techniques that best support healing, symptom relief, personal growth, resilience, and lasting change.

I am trained and experienced in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Person-Centered/Humanistic Therapy, Psychodynamic and Relational Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) principles, Family Systems and Systemic Approaches, Existential and Gestalt Therapy elements, and Integrative/Eclectic Therapy.

I meet every client with compassion, cultural humility, and clinical skill. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, life transitions, or seeking greater self-understanding and fulfillment, I tailor our work together so it feels relevant, respectful, and genuinely helpful.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a warm, welcoming, and completely non-judgmental space where you’ll feel safe and at ease from the very first moment. I bring a genuine, compassionate, and upbeat presence to every session, and I’m fully committed to making our time together feel supportive, human, and hopeful.

During our first session, we’ll take time to truly get to know one another. I’ll listen attentively as you share your story, what brings you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to gain. We’ll gently review session expectations and guidelines, answer any of your questions, and work together to clarify your goals. From there, we’ll begin creating a personalized treatment plan designed to support your unique journey.

My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling truly heard, deeply understood, and genuinely hopeful — with the clear sense that you’re in a caring, collaborative partnership with someone who is fully invested in your growth and well-being.
