Great to meet you!

I believe that all people have worth and value. I also believe hope can be found in even the darkest of times, and I try to hold onto that hope for my clients until they feel it themselves. I have always had an interest in social justice and have seen the harm that can be done by injustices such as racism, sexism, ableism, etc. I welcome clients to bring their unique perspectives into the safe, nonjudgmental therapy space; it is important to me that everyone's voice is heard in a respectful way, especially those whose voices often go unheard. I have enjoyed working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. I have a special interest in working with clients who are neurodivergent and also those who identify as LGBTQ.

I also follow HAES principles and support all of my clients in body positivity.

My approach to therapy

I provide a 15 to 30-minute free consultation to determine if we are a good fit. If we both feel comfortable and decide to move forward with therapy, we will schedule our first session in about a week. This allows time for you to fill out paperwork and to ensure insurance approval for sessions if you choose to use it. During the consultation, we will discuss fees and scheduling, and address any questions you might have about the process and how I work. I am primarily trained in CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy, but also have training in psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and somatic (mind/body) techniques. My approach to therapy is based on each client's individual needs and goals.

What you can expect from me

I believe that therapy can be a great tool for everyone. I like to see progress, and yet I know what that looks like can differ for everyone. Clients that work with me can take away some hope for the future as well as coping skills for the present. Each of my clients is in the driver's seat and I am the passenger with the GPS, guidebook, and map. You tell me where you want to go and I will help guide you there. My goal is that therapy helps you to feel less negative about yourself and the world, and instead more empowered. My hope is also that each client feels their voice is heard in session, which I think is especially important in a society where people do not often listen to each other.
