Great to meet you!

Hello. I received my Master's degree from South Dakota State University in Counseling and Human Resource Development with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I'm a certified trauma specialist and am trained in EMDR. I help by utilizing person-centered therapy with an integrated approach that includes, but is not limited to CBT, DBT, ACT, Attachment Theory, trauma-informed therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy includes an eclectic approach, borrowing concepts and coping skills from various types of therapy, in order to give clients a treatment plan that is tailored to fit them. I'm client-centered, believing that the client should be in charge of their sessions and what types of treatment fit them best. Additionally, I provide a warm, judgment-free environment designed so clients can have a safe place to be themselves fully. I'm empathetic and validating, but am also direct when I feel it's appropriate. After all, clients don't come to therapists in order to receive the benefits of what amounts to talking to a wall. I use humor in my treatment approach, believing that sessions shouldn't be all doom and gloom.

What you can expect from me

I provide a warm and accepting environment where my clients feel free to share openly and without judgement. I feel it's important to use evidence-based therapeutic strategies and aim to help the client move forward by working with them taking actionable steps.
