Great to meet you!

I like to use both talk therapy and expressive arts/ experiential therapy interventions, depending on what could work better in the moment. I am both a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Certified Art Therapist (ATR), as well as an artist. I strongly believe that even when a problem feels overwhelming, insurmountable, and unsolvable, it likely is not any of these. The problem may just need to be approached from a different angle. It can be harder to problem solve as efficiently or creatively under while under stress.

In both my creative and my talk therapy interventions I use an integrative approach. I combine principles of CBT with more strengths-based interventions to uncover what is going well for you (or what will eventually be going well for you).

My approach to therapy

I am here to support you with exploring different perspectives, increasing self-awareness, and learning healthier ways to cope. There is no one size fits all approach. Therapy does not have to be like an assembly line. Each person's experiences with depression are not exactly the same. Each person's experience with anxiety/ trauma/ other issues are not exactly the same. As we work together, we will not be trying to find the "right" answer to "treat" you but instead develop together some multiple strategies for you to maximize your potential, gain clarity, and feel more empowered and hopeful about your life direction.

Some clients want a few sessions to solve a specific problem, and some clients want longer termed support. Either way, I am happy to help you uncover who you are once you have the right support and skills in place. No matter where you are, there is always an opportunity to grow!

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect us to have an open-ended discussion about what led you to seek therapy at this point. I want to understand more about how experiences have impacted you up until this point. We will discuss challenges and as well as protective factors/ resources/ supports may have helped you manage the challenges. I look forward to meeting you soon!
