Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and School Psychologist with over 21 years of clinical experience and 16 years of experience in public education as a special education teacher, educational diagnostician, and school psychologist. I hold a PhD in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education.

My professional background has given me the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in both educational and clinical settings. This diverse experience allows me to bring a well-rounded perspective to my counseling practice, especially when addressing challenges related to learning, behavior, mental health, and family dynamics.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I believe in meeting people where they are while helping them build resilience, strengthen coping strategies, and discover their own capacity for growth and healing. I integrate evidence-based practices with practical strategies so that our work together feels both supportive and actionable.

I specialize in supporting individuals and families who are navigating issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, behavioral challenges, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience working with children and adolescents in the areas of emotional regulation, academic challenges, and special education needs.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your family, my goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can feel understood and empowered to move forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented. I believe each person already has strengths and resilience within them, and my role is to help bring those forward. I create a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and respected without judgment.

I draw from evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care, while also adapting techniques to meet your unique needs. I work alongside you to set realistic goals, build effective coping skills, and address the challenges that may be keeping you from living the life you want.

Because of my background in both education and clinical practice, I understand how emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges can impact daily life and relationships. My approach balances empathy with structure—providing support, while also encouraging accountability and growth.

Ultimately, my goal is to empower you to gain insight, strengthen relationships, manage stressors more effectively, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to gain practical tools for managing life’s challenges, greater self-awareness, and strategies that help them feel more balanced and in control. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Sessions often focus on building coping skills, improving communication, addressing negative thought patterns, and strengthening relationships. Ultimately, clients can expect to leave with a clearer perspective, improved confidence in their ability to navigate difficulties, and a personalized plan to support their growth and healing.
