Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field.

I believe you are the expert on yourself. My role is to guide, educate, and challenge you in a supportive, collaborative environment while honoring your autonomy. We work as a team to: understand the patterns that no longer serve you, strengthen your motivation, and build healthier ways of coping. Together, we explore how your family, culture, and society shape your sense of identity while recognizing you are the expert on yourself.

My work has centered on supporting diverse populations, including neurodivergent individuals (Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, and other forms of cognitive variation), older adults, occupational stress, children of narcissistic parents, first responders (police officers, firefighters, correctional officers, EMTs), Veterans, and people navigating unhealthy or maladaptive coping mechanisms, including addiction to technology, gambling, shopping, food, pornography and substances amongst others.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered and trauma informed utilizing Motivational Interviewing (MI), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).

I am trained in Motivational Interviewing, a collaborative, goal‐oriented communication style that explores your motivation to change. I provide an empathetic, non‐judgmental space where ambivalence can be explored safely. My work is grounded in the core principles of partnership, acceptance, compassion, and evocation—helping you feel understood and empowered. I also utilize the Stages of Change to help you understand your readiness, build motivation, and address unhelpful patterns at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

One of the most important aspects of therapy is feeling connected to and safe with your therapist. Our first session focuses on building rapport in a supportive environment. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore relevant history, and begin identifying your goals. Together, we create a path forward that feels both manageable and meaningful. My intention is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and clear about next steps because “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
