Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Dr. Niesha W. Collor, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who believes that therapy should be a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing and begin creating meaningful change.

With a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and experience working with individuals navigating mental health concerns, trauma, addiction, recovery, life transitions, and emotional challenges, I approach counseling with compassion, understanding, and respect for each person’s unique story.

I believe you are more than the challenges you are facing. Your past may have influenced you, but it does not have to determine your future. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to walk alongside you as you gain insight, develop healthier coping skills, strengthen your relationships, and work toward the life you want.

My counseling approach incorporates evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and other approaches tailored to your individual needs and goals.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and recovery, self-esteem, relationships, or simply feeling stuck, you do not have to navigate it alone.

Therapy is your space. Your story matters. Your healing matters. And your next chapter can look different from your last.

I look forward to creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, collaboration, authenticity, and respect as we work together toward your goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I use evidence-based approaches such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, overcome challenges, and create meaningful change. I believe therapy should be a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free, person-centered space where your story, experiences, and goals are heard and respected. We will explore what brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from counseling, and the areas of your life where you would like to experience growth or change.

I thrive on perspective and believe that being open-minded can create opportunities for greater understanding and healing. I take a holistic and individualized approach, drawing from person-centered therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and other therapeutic techniques to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences.

My goal is to meet you where you are, not where I think you should be. Together, we will identify your strengths, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop healthier coping strategies, and create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, collaboration, self-awareness, and growth.
