Great to meet you!

Reaching out for support can be a daunting step, especially when navigating the weight of self-doubt or the stigma often attached to mental healthcare. I am Nithya Narayan, and for over 10 years, I have been deeply passionate about acting as a catalyst in people’s healing journeys. I specialize in helping individuals move through feelings of being overwhelmed, stuck, or hopeless, with a particular focus on supporting immigrant and marginalized communities. I feel privileged to help my clients achieve their goals and improve their lives by helping them transition from a place of shame toward a life of optimum fulfillment.

I believe that the most effective therapy happens in a space that is profoundly respectful and culturally sensitive. My biggest strength is staying grounded, which allows me to provide a safe harbor for you to explore your experiences without fear of judgment. When I am not working with clients, I find my own balance by going on long hikes, listening to music, and spending quality time with my family. I want my clients to feel safe and empowered during our time together, knowing they have a partner who truly honors their heritage and their unique path to healing.

My approach to therapy

My approach is non-judgmental, person-centered, and deeply rooted in cultural sensitivity. I believe in feedback-driven care, which means our sessions are a collaborative space where your voice and progress shape the work we do. One of my core focuses is helping you understand the difference between your behaviors and your symptoms; by untangling these, we can address the root causes of distress rather than just the surface-level issues. I hope that my clients will be able to positively grow while working together by gaining the clarity needed to navigate a world that doesn't always understand their specific background.

We will focus on dismantling the shame and self-doubt that often prevent people from seeking help in the first place. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you are looking for a provider who understands the nuances of marginalized experiences, my goal is to meet you exactly where you are. Clients should expect to feel heard and supported throughout our time together as we collaboratively bridge the gap between where you are now and the grounded, connected life you deserve.

What you can expect from me

Our first hour is about turning down the noise of the outside world so we can focus entirely on what has been weighing on you. We will spend our time untangling the specific concerns and symptoms that brought you in, moving at a pace that feels natural to you. This initial session is dedicated to getting to know you—exploring your history, your current circumstances, and the reasons you are seeking support.

Think of our first meeting as the beginning of a direct, honest dialogue where your experiences are the primary focus. By the end of the session, we will have begun sketching out a working plan and identifying the initial goals that will lead us toward success. You can expect to leave our first meeting with a sense of relief and the confidence that you are in a space where your culture and your story are fully respected.
