Great to meet you!

My name is Akpaka Nnenna, and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner serving individuals ages 6 to 80. I am committed to supporting children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and LGBTQ individuals facing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, phobias, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, trauma, mood disorders, and insomnia. I provide personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each stage of life.

My approach to therapy

My strengths are effective communication, empathy, rapport-building, patience, compassion, resilience, and adaptability. Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where my patients feel secure enough to share vulnerable thoughts.

What you can expect from me

I chose to become a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to combine clinical expertise with compassionate care and ensure families in underserved areas are not overlooked by the healthcare system. My inspiration comes from supporting patients in inpatient hospitals, individuals experiencing homelessness, underserved communities, and survivors of abuse. These experiences deepened my understanding of mental health and highlighted significant gaps in care. I have seen how depression, anxiety, trauma, and other challenges are intensified by social stigma, often preventing people from seeking help. This motivates me to break down barriers, foster open dialogue, and provide expert, compassionate care.
