Great to meet you!

Many of my clients describe me as someone who “digs” — someone who helps get to the root of what’s really going on rather than just staying on the surface.I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with individuals ages 13+ navigating trauma, anxiety, stress, and major life transitions. Much of my background comes from corrections, crisis response, and behavioral health settings, where I’ve worked with individuals during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

My goal is to create a space that feels safe, honest, and non-judgmental. My style tends to be direct and conversational, and I often use metaphors to help make complex emotions and patterns easier to understand.

Therapy shouldn’t feel like small talk. My goal is that when you leave a session, you feel lighter, clearer, and like we actually moved something forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy focuses on understanding the patterns and experiences that shape how people respond to stress, relationships, and life challenges. Early in the process, I work to understand a client’s life story and identify key experiences that may be influencing how they think, feel, and react today.

From there, therapy often focuses on exploring the impact of those experiences, challenging unhelpful beliefs that may have developed over time, and building healthier ways to respond moving forward. I also incorporate psychoeducation to help clients understand how their mind and body respond to stress and trauma, including how many of these reactions are rooted in natural survival responses.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding your story. I typically ask questions that help me understand your background, starting with earlier life experiences and moving toward what is currently bringing you to therapy.

As we talk, I begin identifying themes or areas that may be important for us to focus on. Toward the end of the session, we’ll discuss what you would like to work on and begin developing a plan for future sessions so therapy has a clear direction moving forward.
