Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Noelani. People describe me as calm, warm, and supportive. Like a warm sweater that you can rely on to be there for you when you need it. To help you get to know me; I have a MA in Professional Mental Health Counseling, I tailor my approach to each person and show up with authenticity and promote collaboration. I believe the core of therapy lies in the bond between therapist and client. My methods blend EFT, DBT, CBT, and creative interventions, with a focus on social justice and multiculturalism. I am especially skillful in working with people with depression and relationship wounds, but I also have experience working with people who want to work on anxiety and emotional regulation and expression.

My approach to therapy

As I stated, the relationship I have with my clients is an incredibly important part of the process and it informs my work with my clients. It's important to me to get to know you before we start to get into the deep things together. I want to make sure you feel understood on a deep level before I challenge you. My motto is, "How can I help you if I don't know who you are?" in our first few sessions I focus specifically on that. Then I like to challenge my clients in a gentle way that focuses on validated awhile balancing it with empowering you to make changes based on your goals.

What you can expect from me

During our first session it's important that we do 4 things: 1) Going through all the legal stuff (everything is about consent and I want you to make sure you know your rights), 2) I'll ask you about the things you do in your free time, what music you listen to, and what else you're interested in, 3) We'll discuss diagnosis (needs to be done during our first session for insurance purposes, and 4) A safety assessment. Above all, it is my responsibility to do what I can to keep people safe. I value being that person people can tell their greatest worries to. Hopefully, you'll let me carry that with you throughout our journey together.
