Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Noor. I am easy to talk to. Clients tell me I am warm, intuitive, empathic, perceptive, and wise. I have 2 Master’s degrees, including one from the University of Cambridge in England. If you search "St. Pete Psychotherapy — Noor Alexander, LMHC" on Google, you will find over 30 five-star reviews for my practice.

I pull clients out of perceived brokenness, emotional stuckness, and trauma to remember who they are again, reconnecting with their innate sense of wholeness, wellbeing, and resilience. I shine the light of compassion and understanding on the unconscious reasons behind unhealthy behaviors and thought patterns that are keeping my clients stuck and unhappy. We each have our own afflictions and unique "cross to bear", and I can help you feel less alone in holding yours.

Some of my specialties include helping clients move through grief, loss, and unresolved trauma; navigate significant life transitions; and manage chronic conditions. I also support clients to feel comfortable in their own skin and sexuality and to blossom into newfound self-love and deeper acceptance. I empower clients to navigate the world of dating, cultivate effective communication skills, and build solid foundations in their relationships.

Also, I bring a lot of my own wisdom and international life experience, having lived in 5 countries on 4 continents, having learned to manage a chronic digestive condition since childhood, & being an openly gay man within cultures where it was not embraced or understood. I have a gentle strength about me, and it is easy for me to connect with and relate to people across different cultures and backgrounds, including but not limited to women, young adults, gay men, people of color, and children of immigrants. I've been told I'm a healing male presence. And, the people that tend to resonate most with me are deep feelers, sensitive souls, creative types, & those who are spiritually-inclined.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, my focus is not on pathology but instead on building clients’ strengths and their core sense of self. I pay attention to the unconscious dimensions of a client’s psyche and reflect back my perception of clients' blindspots. In my therapeutic work, I am intentional about holding the client-therapist relationship as a sacred container that can support deep relational healing, including of clients’ attachment wounds; when clients join me in this intention, I know that magic can happen. I create a space in which clients can explore questions of meaning, spirituality, life & death, and much more. At the start of sessions, I often guide clients through a brief personalized meditation to support them in quieting their minds, anchoring deeply into their bodies, and opening themselves up to receive illumined insights.

My approach to therapy is holistic; I consider the mind-body-spirit connection as well as the emotions. I treat each client as a unique constellation with their own distinctive story and set of meaningful life experiences. Also, I consider the broader systems, cultures, and environments within which clients grew up and now live.

Specifically, I am a trauma-sensitive, IFS-informed, Person-centered (PCT), and EMDR-trained therapist. In addition, what sets me apart from other therapists is that I am also a Certified Transformational Life Coach; and, when it makes sense to, I incorporate my years of professional coach training into my therapeutic work to empower clients to stop playing the waiting game in their lives, to sober up to what’s not working, and to take active steps to create a life of joy and meaning.

(Please note: topics that are currently outside of my specialty include poly or open relationships, major neurodivergence, active suicidality, and TGNB.)

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect that we will have a relaxed conversation. I hope to gain a glimpse into your unique life story, current challenges and stuck points, what has and hasn't worked for you, your intentions and goals for a therapeutic journey, and your longings and vision for your life. We will assess our fit together. And, if we co-discern harmony and resonance, then we will discuss what working together will look like.

If this speaks to you, the next step is to book a free initial 15 minute consult so we can have a simple introduction. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
