Great to meet you!

If you’re looking for a psychiatric provider who will take the time to understand you, not just your symptoms or diagnosis, I’d be happy to work with you. I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of healthcare experience and a background in a variety of psychiatric settings, including outpatient psychiatry, higher-acuity inpatient psychiatric care, interventional psychiatry, correctional psychiatry, and private practice.

I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adolescents and adults, with particular interests in ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and sleep concerns. I also have a strong interest in helping patients understand the factors that may be contributing to difficulties with attention, mood, motivation, and daily functioning.

I believe mental health care should feel collaborative, culturally sensitive, and individualized. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking questions throughout the process.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on the whole person. While medication management is a central part of my practice, I believe effective psychiatric care involves looking beyond a diagnosis or prescription and understanding how symptoms are affecting your relationships, work or school, sleep, routines, and overall quality of life.

Together, we’ll discuss your symptoms, history, goals, preferences, and previous treatment experiences to develop a plan that makes sense for you. When medication is appropriate, I focus on thoughtful prescribing, education, and ongoing monitoring rather than simply adding or changing medications.

I also consider lifestyle factors such as sleep, exercise, stress, nutrition, and daily routines when they may support your mental health. I want you to understand your treatment options and feel like an active participant in decisions about your care.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and develop a clear understanding of what you’ve been experiencing. We’ll discuss your current symptoms, mental health and treatment history, medications, daily functioning, and what you hope to improve.

I’ll also take time to answer your questions, clarify diagnoses when appropriate, and discuss treatment options, including medication and non-medication approaches. If medication is recommended, we’ll talk through the reasoning, potential benefits and side effects, and what to expect moving forward.

You do not need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and with a clear plan for the next steps.
