Great to meet you!

I'm a Palestinian/Iraqi immigrant woman that grew up Muslim in America. I provide culturally responsive therapy for immigrant women or children of immigrants, but I also have a variety of clients from all walks of life.

I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from Boston College. (My first Master's Degree was in Education from Rutgers University - which means I also do a lot of psychoeducation in my sessions!) I've worked with students with disabilities, in college counseling centers, in group practices, and now I have my own private practice.

Prior to being a therapist, I worked in higher education with college students for thirteen years.

My approach to therapy

My goal for our sessions will be to first build a securely attached relationship with you. This means our relationship will feel like a safe and comfy space where you can show up and be yourself, ALL of you (including your cultural background!) Together, we get curious about all the parts of you that make up your inner world and we learn how to be compassionate towards them. We then use your strengths and resources to help you take action.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and set your goals for therapy. My hope is for you to leave your first session with me feeling excited for our work together.
