Great to meet you!

Clients often come to me with concerns about how to deal with microaggression, intersectional identities, burnout, communication concerns, family dynamics, perfectionism, self-critical thoughts, imposter syndrome, stress, trauma, anxiety, grief and loss. I support my clients through life transitions, relationship distress, self-critical thoughts, shame, grief, intersectional identities, and trauma.

Working with me, many clients report letting go of people pleasing, imperfections, expectations, shame, anxiety, carrying other people's burdens, having to regulate for others, self-critical thoughts, grief, loss, releasing old family patterns and wounds, and personalizing. Many clients say they have more capacity for joy, gratefulness, better communication skills within their lives, better boundaries, more self-compassion and grace, going after opportunities, better self-care, learning to advocate for themselves, more grounding and emotional regulation, and confidence.

I specialize in working with BIPOC women and men, activists, and healthcare workers.

I am currently working on becoming an art therapy practitioner. In 2019, I delivered my first TEDx talk on Shame Resilience.

My approach to therapy

As your therapist, I want you to feel empowered, safe, able to let your guard down, held, and validated. I strive to create a warm, safe, open, compassionate, and trusting environment, infused with gentle challenge and honesty, with a goal to nudge you inward and forward.

We uncover the layers of subconscious conditioning, explore intergenerational family patterns, and communication styles. I weave in aspects of EMDR, DBT, CBT, creative arts, and somatic-based approaches to help you reclaim your narrative, uncover shame, self-critical thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that impact your true self. The wisdom lies in your body, and we collaborate on uncovering and utilizing tools that are appropriate to you in a compassionate and challenging space.

As a South Asian Muslim immigrant, I understand the rebuilding process of who we are from generational trauma and patterns, as well as navigating identities that make us authentic. I am passionate about this work because I have seen clients shed their stories and step into their authentic selves when aligned. It brings me immense joy to see individuals no longer surviving but thriving. I invited you to be curious and connect to see how we can work together to help you. I look forward to your phone call.

What you can expect from me

I gently challenge you in each session. After each session, you will be given strategies and tools to practice to feel more empowered.
