Great to meet you!

Noriko Miyahira Easley offers compassionate, individualized care for those navigating emotional or behavioral challenges. Her trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach blends evidence-based practices with deep empathy and lived experience. Originally from outside the U.S., Noriko’s own healing journey led her to become a therapist in 2012 while living in Okinawa, Japan. Now based in Virginia and pursuing a PhD in developmental psychology, she creates a safe, welcoming space where clients can kick their feet up on the couch—relax, cry, vent, or simply sit quietly—and, when ready, begin the work of healing—at their own pace.

My approach to therapy

Noriko’s approach is calm, down-to-earth, and tailored to each client. With children, sessions may involve play, art, or games—each grounded in clinical intention. Progress may be gradual, but with trust and consistency, change begins—often quietly, like roots growing before the sprout.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions feeling heard, understood, and supported in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Together, we will work on building insight into patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior, while also developing practical coping strategies that can be applied in daily life. My approach is collaborative and empowering—I help clients connect with their own strengths, gain new perspectives, and create realistic steps toward their personal goals. Over time, clients often notice improvements in emotional regulation, communication skills, and overall resilience, as well as a greater sense of clarity and confidence in navigating life’s challenges.
