Great to meet you!

I have 10 years of military service and over 20 years of working with mental health populations, where my post-graduate education has been focused on resolving trauma, from crisis intervention through grief resolution. Aside from community programs, I have experience working overseas with service members as well as co-responding with emergency services here at home. I have a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where I achieved a 4.0 GPA from Capella University.

My approach to therapy

Taking an intuitive approach to dealing with life's stressors involves demonstrating empathy and compassion to understand your concerns, so that we can process and find the root of the problem. Creating a way forward and consciously changing the way we deal with negative emotions, from anxiety and depression to anger, frustration and guilt can all be addressed through understanding our brain's role in dealing with trauma, as well as societal, cultural, emotional, mental and spiritual areas.

What you can expect from me

I enjoy building rapport and getting to know clients in a safe, consensual space so that I can fully understand their strengths as well as their goals in therapy. Clients can expect to feel heard and understood, at their pace, so that they can address the root causes of their concerns and chart a course forward toward empowerment.
