Great to meet you!

I have 18 years' experience as licensed counselor working in faith based/not for profit agencies serving culturally diverse clients of various races, cultures, religions, and lifestyles. I served as an adjunct professor of counseling at a graduate school for 13 years.

My approach is relational, trauma informed, and faith informed. I have been trained in child, adolescent, and family therapy. I enjoy helping people in their healing process through discovering meaning and purpose in their lives.

My approach to therapy

It is important to listen to the client’s presenting problem and history of the presenting problem. I ask the client to describe themselves from their earliest memories.

I am a psychodynamic/attachment oriented traumatologist. I integrate the developmental experiences in formulating the reasons the client is in treatment and developing the treatment goals with them.

It is respectful to the client to understand them as a person - not a diagnosis. In that way, I am a very person-centered therapist.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to feel empowered and relieved through doing the work of therapy, and the validation and understanding of a compassionate, non-judgmental and experienced therapist. My goal for the client is to practice self-compassion, self-care and mindfulness in how they approach their difficulties. I help them understand that healing requires a willingness to change. Change is a process that requires a commitment to self-acceptance, self-compassion and gratitude that helps us to grow.
