Great to meet you!

Dr. Vastani is a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, university professor in the health sciences, and experienced clinician with more than two decades in healthcare. Her commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate patient care has also been recognized with a Best of Georgia 2025 award.

Her distinctive background in both physical and mental health allows her to approach psychiatric care through a comprehensive clinical lens, recognizing the complex relationship between the brain, body, environment, and overall well-being. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based medicine, neuroscience, psychopharmacology, and individualized clinical decision-making.

Dr. Vastani believes exceptional psychiatric care goes beyond treating a diagnosis or prescribing medication. She takes the time to understand the person behind the symptoms, thoughtfully considers the biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors influencing their health, and partners with each patient to develop a treatment plan that is both clinically sound and personally meaningful.

Above all, Dr. Vastani is committed to creating a space where patients feel heard, respected, and never reduced to a diagnosis. Her philosophy brings together science and compassion, academic knowledge and real-world clinical experience, with one goal: helping each patient move toward greater stability, confidence, and quality of life.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Vastani understands that seeking psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, and she believes every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and understood. Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with compassion, clinical experience, and individualized care.

Drawing on her background in both family medicine and psychiatry, Dr. Vastani considers the whole person—not simply a diagnosis. She integrates principles of neuroscience, psychopharmacology, psychology, and physical health to better understand how biological, emotional, and environmental factors may be contributing to a patient’s symptoms.

Her goal is to partner with each patient in developing a thoughtful, personalized treatment plan while providing clear education about diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and what to expect along the way. She believes the best psychiatric care is grounded in science, guided by clinical expertise, and delivered with genuine compassion.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit with Dr. Vastani is a comprehensive and compassionate evaluation of your mental health. She will review your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, lifestyle, and daily functioning to better understand the full clinical picture.

Using evidence-based psychiatric care and clinical assessment, Dr. Vastani works with each patient to identify their individual needs and develop a personalized treatment plan. When appropriate, treatment may include medication management, education, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with other healthcare professionals.

Most importantly, Dr. Vastani wants every patient to feel heard, respected, and understood without judgment. Her approach combines science, clinical expertise, and genuine compassion so patients leave their first visit feeling supported, informed, and confident about the next steps in their care.
