Great to meet you!

As a South Asian American Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring both professional expertise and cultural understanding to my practice. My work is guided by the recognition that many individuals face unique challenges, including the stigma associated with mental health, intergenerational conflict, cultural identity concerns, and the stress of adapting to new environment. I approach therapy with the belief that effective care must honor the client’s cultural values while providing evidence-based treatment. My philosophy emphasizes the integration of Western therapeutic models—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed practices—with an awareness of the cultural and familial frameworks that shape each person’s experience.

My approach to therapy

My role as a therapist is to create a space where clients feel understood without the need to explain or justify their cultural background. I aim to bridge the gap between traditional values and modern approaches to mental health, supporting clients in navigating complex family dynamics, managing stress and anxiety, and strengthening their sense of identity.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, clients can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental space where their experiences are acknowledged and respected. My approach is collaborative, with the goal of helping clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop strategies that are both culturally and personally meaningful.
