Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Oghenero Olomukoro and I am a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a specialty in Psychiatric/Mental Health. Prior to becoming an NP, I was privileged to work as a Registered Nurse (RN) for several years, caring for patients in different units, including Orthopedics, Neurology, Oncology, and Mental Health. During that time, I saw the dire need to care for patients with mental health ailments. This motivated me to pursue additional training in the Mental Health sphere, and in 2021, I earned a Master of Science degree from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Throughout my years of clinical practice, I have enjoyed a strong reputation for providing the highest level of patient care. I ensure that my patients receive the quality care they individually deserve, delivered with compassion, understanding, and respect. Additionally, I have made significant contributions to all the organizations where I have practiced, ensuring more efficient operations.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I also enjoy leisure travel.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is grounded in holistic, patient-centered, and evidence-based practices. With a very strong background in medical surgical nursing, my practice integrates clinical expertise, compassionate communication, advocacy, and cultural competence. I strive to make a significant impact on the mental health and overall quality of life of my patients.

What you can expect from me

At the first session, my initial goal is to establish rapport and build trust with the patient and make them comfortable, through light-hearted conversations, to develop a holistic understanding of the patient’s needs. I review confidentiality and privacy policies, seek consent to consult with patient’s other healthcare providers to coordinate care, and answer any questions the patient may have about the treatment process and expectations. This initial session, which is expected to last about one (1) hour, will include discussions centered around the following:

a review of the patient’s history,

an evaluation of the patient’s current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, family history, lifestyle, any previous treatment, and review any current medications list,

make a diagnosis and discuss an individualized treatment plan, including any necessary referrals to other specialists,

order medications if needed, order labs if needed,

answer any additional questions the patient may have, and

schedule a follow-up visit.
