Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. I’m glad you’re here. I am Okeema Polite, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have a passion for the work that I do because I believe in the power of recovery and growth. I believe that authenticity is essential in creating the emotional safety necessary for individuals to engage in the discomfort that meaningful growth requires. My calm and sincere presence helps cultivate a space where you feel empowered to express your true self without fear of judgment.

My approach to therapy

With over twenty years of experience, I bring a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy that integrates practical tools to support meaningful change. I often draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI)—approaches that help strengthen self-awareness, build confidence, and support motivation for positive growth.

What you can expect from me

You've taken the first step—come as you are. After reviewing consents, we’ll spend much of our first session with me listening closely to understand what brings you in, why now and what you hope to achieve. In order to support you on your journey I must first understand your goals; and from there, we’ll explore creating a path forward that feels supportive, empowering, and uniquely yours.
