Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas working with teens and adults. I came to counseling after more than a decade in education, and I have a master's in Counseling and Development from Lamar University.

Many of the people I work with have spent years adapting to their families, cultures, workplaces, or systems that weren't built with them in mind. Sometimes they've adapted so well they've lost track of what they actually want. I focus on anxiety, neurodivergent burnout, LGBTQ+ identity and identity exploration, immigrant and first-generation experiences, grief that often goes unrecognized (pet loss, estrangement, immigration-related loss), and reproductive decisions. I'm a neurodivergent immigrant myself, which is part of what brought me to this work.

My approach to therapy

I mainly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, within a relational, attachment-informed approach. I pay close attention to context: how your family, culture, identity, and environment taught you to move through the world, and which of those patterns still help. Your patterns protected you, even the ones costing you now.

Sessions are collaborative and flexible, and nothing you feel has to be cleaned up before you bring it in. Some weeks we'll dig into long-standing patterns and relationships, and other weeks we'll work on concrete skills or sort through something that just happened.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know you. We'll talk about what brought you in, what's been going on lately, and as much of your history, family, and culture as you want to share. I'll ask what you'd like to be different in your life so we know what we're working toward from the start. You're welcome to ask me questions too, about how I work or whether I seem like a good fit. By the end we'll have rough goals and a plan for how often to meet.
