Olivia Shay

Hi! I'm Olivia, a licensed clinical social worker in Colorado. I completed my bachelor's degree at Northwestern University and my master's degree in social work at Boston College. I did my post-masters training at the University of Colorado, where I specialized in working with transgender and gender non-conforming clients as well as integrative behavioral health.

I take a human-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy, and I prioritize building a strong, trusting relationship with clients. I believe that we are all doing the best we can in our environment with the current resources available to us. I want you to feel supported in developing a deeper understanding of yourself and your context as well as guide you in adding to your existing resources and skills.

My practice is informed by a variety of modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapies, internal family systems, and feminist therapy. I really enjoy exploring identity and relationship concerns with my clients. I want to help you navigate whatever your next steps are with self-compassion and agency.

My priority to start is just developing a relationship with you and understanding where you are coming from as well as where you want to go (we can figure this part out together)! I want therapy to feel like a safe, open environment where you are able to share vulnerable parts of yourself.
