Oluchi Ofoegbu

Hi there, I'm Oluchi and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I hold a Master's degree in Social Work and an undergraduate degree in Social Work with a certificate in Applied Gerontology. I have over 17 years experience in a hospital setting; in organ transplant, medicine and in the emergency room setting. I have helped individuals and families in some of their most vulnerable and uncertain times improve their coping, navigate life complexities and develop resilience prior to, during and post life changing experience; be it anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, chronic illness and feelings of isolation.

My hope is to empower you through identifying your inner strength, reassess, develop, enhance and support more adaptive patterns of thinking and behavior to situations. My approach is to build rapport and provide a safe nonjudgmental space, by integrating CBT, Christian counseling, strength-based and solution-focused methods to support your growth and healing.

My communication style centers on active supportive listening where clients feel heard, safe and respected. Through collaboration and mutual understanding, we identify challenges and work toward an effective and meaningful strategies for change. In our first and subsequent sessions, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate way to help you make progress. We'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
