Great to meet you!

You may be used to handling things on your own, but anxiety, depression, or stress can reach a point where pushing through no longer feels sustainable. Your mind may rarely slow down, anger can show up more quickly than you would like, or painful experiences from the past may still influence how you respond to situations today. I work with adults and seniors experiencing anxiety, depression, stress management, men’s issues, and PTSD. These concerns can also overlap with substance use or addiction, LGBTQIA+ concerns, anger management, panic disorders, grief or loss, or relationship issues, especially when the ways you have learned to cope begin affecting how you feel about yourself and connect with others. Therapy can give you a place where you do not have to minimize what you are experiencing or figure everything out alone. Together, we can understand what has been weighing on you, build healthier ways of coping, and help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both the person you are and the relationships, identity, emotions, and experiences that have shaped you. We’ll explore how anxiety, depression, stress management, men’s issues, and PTSD may be affecting your emotional wellbeing and the way you navigate everyday life. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop healthier ways of responding, Narrative Therapy to examine the stories you have developed about yourself and your experiences and create space for a different perspective, and Seeking Safety to build practical coping skills when trauma and substance use are connected. Trauma Focused CBT can help you process painful experiences while strengthening your ability to manage the thoughts and emotions connected to them, while Solution Focused Brief Therapy can help us identify your existing strengths and turn the changes you want into practical steps. Our sessions will be collaborative, warm, and grounded in your individual experience, balancing deeper understanding with tools you can use outside of therapy.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to have the right words for everything you are experiencing or know exactly what needs to change before we begin. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what brought you here, what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will create goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it makes the most sense to start. You can expect me to bring warmth, creativity, and solution oriented support to our conversations while creating a space where you can speak honestly about difficult emotions, identity, relationships, substance use, or painful experiences without judgment. Progress may look like feeling less consumed by anxiety, reconnecting with yourself when depression feels heavy, managing stress or anger in healthier ways, communicating more openly in your relationships, or feeling safer and less controlled by trauma from your past. We will continue checking in on your goals and shape our work around what helps you feel more grounded, capable, and confident moving forward.
