Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Buchi, and I’m glad you’re here.

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with advanced training in both psychiatric–mental health and family practice. My clinical foundation allows me to care for the whole person, addressing mental health needs while remaining attentive to physical health, lifestyle factors, and long-term wellness.

I completed my graduate education at Georgia State University, where I received rigorous training grounded in evidence-based practice, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care. My education and professional experience have shaped a thoughtful, compassionate approach to treatment that prioritizes safety, collaboration, and individualized care.

In my private practice, I specialize in comprehensive mental health services across the lifespan. My primary treatment areas include anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, mood disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental and medical conditions. I also provide medication management, psychotherapy, and integrated treatment planning, with careful attention to each client’s personal goals, values, and lived experience.

I believe that effective mental health care begins with listening. I work collaboratively with my clients, taking time to understand not only symptoms, but also the underlying stressors, strengths, and supports that influence mental well-being. My goal is to create a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported throughout their care journey.

Whether you are seeking help for the first time or looking for more comprehensive, thoughtful care, I am committed to partnering with you to promote healing, stability, and long-term mental wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, evidence-based, and centered on the whole person. I believe that effective mental health treatment begins with listening carefully, building trust, and developing a shared understanding of each client’s goals, values, and lived experiences. I work alongside clients as an active partner in their care, rather than directing treatment from a one-size-fits-all model.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is designed to be thorough, supportive, and collaborative. The primary goal is to understand you as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms. I work intentionally to create a calm, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel safe sharing your concerns at your own pace.

During the initial visit, we will review your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, medications, and relevant life stressors. I also assess sleep, mood, anxiety, attention, substance use, and overall functioning. When appropriate, I use validated screening tools to support accurate diagnosis and guide treatment planning, in line with recommendations from the American Psychiatric Association and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
