Dr. Opal Silvera Beckford

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with clinical training from New York University (NYU) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Wilkes University. I provide evidence-based mental health care, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management and supportive therapy. My clinical experience includes providing mental health support at an in-patient organization as well as an outpatient clinic, providing ongoing stabilization for adult patients with a diverse range of mental health conditions.

I have been described as calm, empathetic and non-judgmental. I work in partnership with you in a way that feels respectful, supportive and empowering, helping you to achieve stabilization and success in treatment. We work together to develop a treatment plan that is evidence-based and tailored to each individual's needs and goals.

Your first session will begin with an introduction, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what your goals are for treatment. I approach every individual with openness, curiosity, and respect, creating a space where you are heard without judgement. My style is calm and collaborative and grounded in empathy. I strive to meet you exactly where you are as we develop a plan of care that aligns with your goals, values and unique experiences.
