Great to meet you!

Life can bring unexpected adversity and ongoing challenges that leave you feeling overwhelmed, drained, or disconnected from your best self. For over 30 years, I have had the privilege of working with youth and adults, couples, and families as they navigate difficult seasons and build resilience. My style is warm, empathetic, and solution-focused, with an emphasis on thoughtful assessment and practical strategies for coping and growth. I believe my clients are often wiser and stronger than they realize, and therapy can help unlock that strength. If you are feeling confused, stuck, or worn down by life’s demands, I offer a safe and supportive space to help you move forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is a blend of short term solution focused strategies. I rely heavily on the therapeutic principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) among others. My sessions are highly interactive as I seek to empower my clients to participate actively in their therapeutic plan and to also develop skills for the long term maintenance of their mental well being and functioning.

What you can expect from me

You can expect your first session with me to be highly interactive with an active exchange of relevant assessment information. It includes a mutual introduction and an accurate evaluation of your presenting issues, your goals for the therapy process and relevant contextual information that will help me to better understand you and the challenges that bring you to counseling. This "get to know you" and information gathering first session, sets the stage for the work that will be done in the following sessions.
