My name is Oscar Corea and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I graduated from Nova South Eastern University with my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. Since then, I have had 6 years experience working at Community Health Centers and Private Sectors, providing Individual and Family Therapy. I have also provided presentations and spoken to to community centers and schools to educate about various mental health issues and diagnosis.
I have worked with children, adolescences, and adults; with anxiety, depression, trauma (PTSD), and behavior problems, including ADHD. I incorporate many theories and techniques that are most suitable for each client and specific need that each client has, but I specialized most with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I also incorporate techniques from Play Therapy to help children understand complex concepts in a playful and simple way.
Client should expect an inviting atmosphere in which they will engage in a learning process about themselves; their behavior and mental health. Clients will determine the pace of the therapy process, but also be challenged to implement coping skills learned in therapy in order to improve their wellbeing.
