In the beginning of my career I came to see that some individuals needed more help than others and it motivated me to expand my knowledge. This led to attending over 20 additional hours a month for a year after graduation to deepen my understanding of mental health such as trauma, anxiety, substance abuse, and depression to identify what healing looks like.
Education:
Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #131261
I have worked in various settings such as in-home family programs, substance abuse treatment outpatient, residential and detox, community based setting for supporting life changes, short-term residential therapeutic program for children, and emergency housing and reintegration for the homeless. All of these areas of work have helped me understand that no one person is the same and that we all benefit from healing that is focused to our personality and beliefs.
In my approach to therapy I understand that our daily functions serve a purpose despite how dysfunctional it may feel. I see the problem as part of a bigger system and how one area of our lives can affect the other. I work together with you toward finding balance to get what you want in life. Healing and growth has many working parts and therapy can be one of them in your search for answers.
