Great to meet you!

I am Dr. Oyenike Ogunmekan, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, respectful, and evidence-based mental health care. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to take an active role in their mental health and overall well-being.

My psychiatric professional background started 5 years ago and it includes caring for individuals with a wide range of behavioral and mental health concerns, with an emphasis on developing treatment plans tailored for each client.

I provide psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults, recognizing that mental health needs can look different at every stage of life. I believe effective treatment begins with listening. I strive to build a collaborative relationship with each patient and provide education about diagnoses and treatment options so that patients and families can make informed decisions about their care

My approach to therapy

I take time to understand each patient's concerns, symptoms, life experiences, strengths, and personal goals. Together, we develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive interventions, education, healthy lifestyle strategies, and coordination with other healthcare professionals or therapists when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

Your first session will be to get to know you, your personal goals for treatment and what you hope to achieve. Based on the evaluation, I will discuss my clinical recommendations with you and answer any questions you may have. When appropriate, we will develop an individualized treatment plan together, which may include medication management, supportive strategies, therapy recommendations, lifestyle changes, or coordination with other healthcare providers.

Most importantly, you can expect to be heard, respected, and included in decisions about your care. My goal is for you to leave your first session with a clearer understanding of your concerns, your treatment options, and the next steps toward improving your mental health and overall quality of life.
