Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Pablo Arturo Jimenez, MS, LPC, NCC. I have a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently a PhD student in Clinical Psychology. I always carried a passion for helping people through their most difficult times and needs. I developed a life philosophy that if I have the power to help people, then it is my duty to do so. Helping people has allowed me to work with adolescents and adults who struggle with mental health/substance use disabilities or life adjustments. Like my personal beliefs, my counseling approach is tailored to help you; help you heal, grow, problem-solve, explore, reconnect, empower, find a purpose, and much more. I may not find myself in your shoes, but I can walk alongside with you, listen, and understand. By utilizing a holistic approach to therapy with current research-based practices, you will be in touch with your inner self as well as being in touch with the world around you.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style and focus are based on models of mental, emotional, and behavioral change. Models from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR Trained Therapist), Certified Complex Trauma Informed Therapist (CCPT), Brain spotting certified, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Grief and Bereavement.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect the first session to focus on building a collaborative relationship, understanding their concerns, and exploring how they have been responding to difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. Rather than concentrating solely on symptom reduction, the session emphasizes understanding how attempts to avoid, control, or struggle with unwanted internal experiences may be affecting their quality of life. Clients are invited to share their goals for therapy, current challenges, and the areas of life that are most important to them. During the first session, I would also introduce the basic principles of behavior, including the idea that painful thoughts and emotions are a normal part of being human. Together, we would begin exploring mindful flexibility, the ability to stay present, make room for difficult experiences, and take actions that align with personal values. Clients can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they are encouraged to discuss what matters most to them and how they would like their life to look if they were no longer controlled by fear, anxiety, self-doubt, or other internal struggles.

By the end of the session, clients can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapy process, identify initial treatment goals, and begin considering the values that will guide our work together. The focus is not on eliminating difficult thoughts or feelings, but on helping clients develop a different relationship with those experiences so they can engage more fully in meaningful, valued living.
