Great to meet you!

Firstly, if you happen to stop by my profile I want to say that I hope this message finds you well in health and spirits. I have a passion for helping others and providing my clients the tools and skills to help facilitate healing and growth. I have been practicing counseling going on 5 years. I graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) in 2019, with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have diverse experience working for nonprofit organizations, addictions outpatient clinics, university counseling clinics, and private practice clinics. I am an EMDR Certified Therapist, which is an evidence based therapy approach for treating trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction. I utilize a integrative approach that pulls from various evidence based approaches to tailor treatment for each individual client I see. I look forward to meeting you and working with you. I would be honored to support you on your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

I utilize a humanistic person centered approach that integrates evidence based approaches that include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), dialectics of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused, and Trauma Informed Care. I specialize in Trauma Focused Therapy, Addictions Counseling, working with LGBTQ+ issues, Grief, Relational/Marital Dynamics, working with individuals with Disabilities, as well as treating various presentations of Anxiety and Depression. Additionally, I have experience working with Adolescents, Young Adults, Adults, and Middle Aged Populations. I focus on treating the root and getting to the heart of the matter.

What you can expect from me

I will kindly and warmly introduce myself as a person and a professional counselor. I frame the first intake session as a "get to know you" session. I will affirm the therapy room to be a judgement free zone and I will use empathic curiosity to gather important information in the areas of family history, mental health/trauma history, strengths, support system, and overall goals for therapy.
