Great to meet you!

Great to meet you! I'm Paloma Ortiz, a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with children, adolescents, couples, and families. Sometimes the hardest part is reaching out, and I'm so glad you're here. As a proud Hispanic counselor, I create a culturally sensitive and supportive environment where clients and families feel understood and empowered.

I work with individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, family conflict, relationship issues, behavioral challenges, trauma, life transitions, and more. Whether you're a parent worried about your child, a teen struggling to find your voice, a couple trying to reconnect, or a family working through conflict, I'm here to help you find solutions that work for your unique situation.

My style is warm, open-minded, and solution-oriented. I believe in meeting you where you are and building on the strengths you already have. Outside of my professional work, I'm deeply devoted to my Christian faith, and I enjoy baking, traveling, and spending quality time with my family. These experiences fuel my passion for helping others lead fulfilling lives.

My approach to therapy

I utilize an integrative approach that blends a variety of models including functional family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, multi-systemic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and play therapy. This allows me to tailor therapy to meet each client's unique needs, whether you're a young child who learns best through play, a teen who needs space to process, or a family looking for practical tools to communicate better.

I focus on building strong therapeutic relationships because I believe rapport is the foundation of real growth. Together, we'll identify what's been weighing on you, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies that help you move forward with more confidence and peace.

What you can expect from me

Your first therapy session will primarily focus on information gathering, setting foundational expectations, and evaluating our personal fit. I focus on rapport building as I believe it is a strong foundation to the progress of therapeutic growth.

We'll talk about what brought you in, what you're hoping will change, and what support you need most right now. If you're bringing in a child, I'll make sure they feel comfortable and safe in a way that's appropriate for their age. You can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you and your family feel truly heard and valued.
