Great to meet you!

If you are an adult struggling with depression, anxiety, family-related concerns, or major life transitions, taking the step towards therapy can feel overwhelming. You deserve a safe, supportive space where your experiences are heard, your cultural background is respected, and your personal goals matter. As a Spanish-speaking therapist, I support adults from diverse cultural backgrounds as they navigate life's challenges, strengthen emotional well-being, and develop healthier ways of coping. I take a holistic, culturally sensitive approach that recognizes how emotional, physical, social, cultural, and spiritual experiences can influence mental health. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we work collaboratively to build practical skills, explore challenges, and identify meaningful steps toward positive change. My goal is to empower you to recognize your strengths, honor your values, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Growing up in Rhode Island within a Guatemalan American immigrant family has shaped my understanding of the importance of culture, identity, family, and belonging. My background allows me to appreciate how our experiences and environments influence our mental health and shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help individuals navigate depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, and family-related concerns. Through CBT, we work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to challenges. Using DBT, we focus on strengthening emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. During our sessions, I explain these approaches and help you practice practical skills that can be applied to everyday situations. I integrate these evidence-based approaches within culturally sensitive framework that considers your unique experiences, values, and overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

During our first virtual session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, welcomed, and supported as we begin working together. We will take time to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore your concerns, strengths, and needs across different areas of your life. I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, so there is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to share. This is your journey, and you have a voice in every step of the process. Together, we will develop individualized treatment goals that reflect your values, culture, and personal aspirations. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, creating a space where you can feel heard, respected, and empowered. I am here to provide the support and guidance you need to navigate life's challenges, overcome obstacles, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life at a pace that feels right for you.
